Greetings and a warm welcome to the Family Medicine Residency Program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center! We, the chief residents for the 2023-24 academic year, are honored to have you join our close-knit community.

Our program stands out for its remarkable diversity, and we take immense pride. We selected Jackson, Mississippi, as our training ground for the next three years because of its many opportunities. You'll be able to serve underserved communities and learn from the finest teaching faculty members here. Moreover, Jackson and its metro area have much to offer regarding leisure activities during your free time.

We hold deep gratitude for the trust our residents, students, staff, and faculty have placed in us, and we are genuinely excited about the opportunity to serve them this year and be a resource to you.

Our former residents often express a shared sentiment: "The unique pathology you encounter and the exceptional quality of instruction you receive here will equip you to excel in almost any healthcare setting."

As the state of Mississippi's only academic center and level 1 trauma center, you will receive unparalleled medical training. Our program also takes pride in our research opportunities, which include presenting at national conferences.

Wellness, for our residents, is greatly emphasized, with events regularly hosted throughout the year, including an annual resident retreat. Our department, as a whole, also hosts annual holiday parties. Family members are also welcomed into our community.

We are incredibly excited about the prospect of you choosing our program for your Family Medicine training. We eagerly await the opportunity to meet you and look forward to sharing more about our program!

Thank you,

Charles and Nneka
